About this role

Duolingo is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their finance team in Pittsburgh, PA. This role involves owning parts of the monthly close process, preparing reconciliations, and strengthening financial controls. You will collaborate with FP&A and cross-functional teams, identify automation opportunities, and ensure financial accuracy and timeliness.

What we are looking for

Prepare and post journal entries with proper support
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly
Assist with P&L variance analyses
Perform processes in accordance with SOX controls
Identify automation/efficiency opportunities in ERP and reconciliation platforms
Experience in public accounting with month-end close responsibilities
