ACCOUNTANT - FINANCE

Mesa County is seeking an Accountant to assist in creating accurate financial statements and reports. This cross-functional role involves rotating through key accounting functions like Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger to support operational continuity and professional development. You will interact with citizens, vendors, and county staff, requiring clear communication skills.

• Assist in creating timely and accurate financial statements and reports
• Rotate through key accounting functions (AP, AR, GL, Financial Reporting)
• Maintain general ledger, journals, and other accounting records
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and other balance sheet accounts
• Prepare documentation and respond to requests for the county's annual audit
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 2 years of related experience required
