Special Assets Analyst

Flagstar Bank is seeking a Special Assets Analyst to support the management of distressed commercial real estate and multifamily loans. This role involves market research, financial analysis, and assisting with workout strategies to preserve principal and prevent charge-offs, while ensuring compliance with regulations.

• Support management of distressed commercial real estate/multifamily loans
• Conduct market research and financial analysis for loan remediation
• Re-underwrite credits focusing on borrower liquidity and cash flow
• Develop and update financial models for recovery alternatives
• Prepare credit approval memos and review loan bookings
• Liaise with internal/external stakeholders and interact with borrowers
