Financial Specialist

The Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (WID) is seeking an organized and dedicated Financial Specialist to support faculty, staff, students, and guests. This role is crucial for managing purchasing, travel, reimbursements, and financial transactions, requiring strong financial judgment, attention to detail, and excellent customer service. You will interpret and adhere to UW-Madison financial policies and grant conditions, working both independently and collaboratively within a small administrative team.

• Process and audit financial transactions including purchases, travel, and reimbursements
• Reallocate expenses and assign funding codes according to established policies
• Provide customer service and answer fiscal questions for diverse audiences
• Interpret and apply UW-Madison financial policies and grant terms
• Experience with Excel and managing multiple tasks
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
