Accountant III

Essential Utilities is seeking an Accountant III to maintain the general ledger, analyze financial statements, and assist with financial reporting. This role involves reviewing accounts payable and payroll, preparing journal entries, and reconciling balance sheet accounts. The position also supports budgeting, tax filings, and governmental reporting.

• Maintain general ledger and analyze expense/balance sheet accounts
• Prepare and post journal entries and accruals
• Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close
• Prepare operating budgets and monitor performance against budget
• Complete sales tax and business privilege tax filings
