Accountant III - Nelnet Bank

Nelnet Bank is seeking an Accountant III to join their finance team. This role involves developing, preparing, and analyzing financial and operational data, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and assisting with financial reporting. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Prepare month-end close and ad hoc journal entries, calculations, analysis, and reporting
• Reconcile complex general ledger accounts and research variances
• Analyze general ledger accounts for proper accounting treatment and accrual adjustments
• Assist with monthly financial statement preparation and variance analysis
• Participate in financial and operational audits and regulatory exams
• Develop solutions for continuous process improvements
