About this role

GDIT is seeking a Cloud Application Engineer to support the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). This role involves modernizing and managing a hybrid hosting platform spanning AWS and Windows, focusing on infrastructure as code with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and application instrumentation. You will migrate on-prem Windows workloads to AWS, improve operational processes, and contribute to the platform's future direction, ensuring always-up, always-available applications.

What we are looking for

Deploy, harden, and troubleshoot Windows applications on Windows Server and IIS
Administer SQL Server databases and Amazon RDS
Define AWS infrastructure as code using Terraform
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or AWS CodeBuild
Instrument the platform with dashboards, SLOs, and alerts
Migrate and modernize Windows applications from on-prem to AWS
