Process Safety Engineer III

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Engineer to join their Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering team in Los Angeles. This role focuses on ensuring process safety and reliability throughout the lifecycle of flight and non-flight hardware, from initial hazard identification to mitigation plan execution. You will collaborate closely with engineering, test, and operations teams to manage technical risks and evolving program needs in a fast-paced environment.

• Lead process hazard identification and risk assessment activities
• Apply inherently safer design principles to reduce hazards
• Evaluate risks associated with novel materials and high-energy systems
• Provide process safety and reliability input into system design and architecture
• Support hazard controls embedded into hardware, software, and operational procedures
• Analyze failure modes and drive corrective actions
