About this role

As a Staff AI Platform Engineer at Abbott, you will drive the architecture and delivery of critical components of our enterprise AI platform. This senior individual contributor role involves setting technical direction, partnering on architectural decisions, and serving as a primary technical escalation point for consuming teams. You will operate with significant autonomy to raise the technical bar for the team and ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our AI infrastructure.

What we are looking for

Lead design of major platform capabilities like model gateways, GenAI runtimes, and registries
Define architecture decisions for control plane, SDKs, and developer experience
Drive platform observability, evaluation strategy, and responsible AI controls
Own platform reliability engineering, including SLOs and incident response
Set engineering standards through reviews and technical risk identification
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on cross-team initiatives
