About this role

Join the MANIAC Lab at the University of Chicago as a Cyberinfrastructure Engineer to build and operate advanced computing systems for global science collaborations like the ATLAS experiment at CERN. You will manage Linux systems, distributed storage, and GPU infrastructure, integrating hands-on administration with cloud-native technologies and AI/ML platforms.

What we are looking for

Operate and scale Linux compute, storage, and GPU infrastructure
Manage distributed storage systems (Ceph, Rook)
Perform on-site hardware installation and maintenance
Deploy and operate infrastructure for agent-driven research
Utilize Kubernetes, containers, and GitOps tooling
Monitor systems using Prometheus and Grafana
