About this role

General Motors is seeking founding Staff Site Reliability Engineers to establish a centralized SRE team for autonomous vehicle software. You will define reliability standards, build automation tooling, and drive incident excellence to ensure the measurable reliability of critical systems.

What we are looking for

Co-found the SRE Practice and translate reliability charter into engineering systems
Build shared reliability tooling and automation for service cataloging, SLOs, and error budgets
Define production reliability architecture, minimum standards, and exception processes
Drive incident excellence and operationalize severity, command, and response standards
Partner with service owners to classify critical services and establish SLIs/SLOs
Protect engineering capacity by automating manual operational work
