Systems Engineer I

Texas A&M AgriLife Research is seeking a Systems Engineer I to support their Center for Managed Technology Services (CMTS). This role involves designing, deploying, and managing Linux and Windows research systems, virtual infrastructure, and backup solutions. You will contribute to secure and scalable infrastructure, collaborating with researchers and IT partners to implement reliable technical solutions.

• Design, deploy, and manage Linux and Windows research systems
• Administer virtual infrastructure in Azure, AWS, and on-prem VMware
• Implement and monitor storage, backup, and recovery solutions
• Support research workstations and instrument-attached systems
• Contribute to automation pipelines and CI/CD workflows
• Collaborate with researchers and IT partners on technical solutions
