IT System Administrator (1099 Contract)

DEFCON AI is seeking an experienced IT System Administrator for a 1099 contract role to manage and maintain their cloud environments, identity systems, and end-user services. This position involves daily administration of AWS and Microsoft Azure, as well as Microsoft 365, ensuring reliable and secure operations. The role requires a self-directed individual comfortable working independently and documenting their work.

• Administer, monitor, and maintain AWS and Microsoft Azure workloads
• Manage Microsoft 365 tenant, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams
• Perform routine system administration, patching, monitoring, and maintenance
• Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for task automation
• Support security and compliance requirements for Department of War mission spaces
• 7+ years of IT system administration experience
