Product Designer, HR Experiences

Gusto is seeking a Product Designer to shape AI-driven HR expertise experiences for small businesses and HR advisors. This role focuses on service design and AI product design, ensuring trust, clarity, and user control in a high-stakes compliance domain. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data teams to define strategy and lead the end-to-end design of AI-powered product surfaces.

• Shape AI-powered HR Assist, HR Partner Console, Compliance Intelligence, and HR Documents
• Lead service design using journey maps and service blueprints
• Make judgment calls on AI outputs, uncertainty, and human override
• Define trust, graceful failure, and human override patterns for AI experiences
• Co-lead product strategy with PM, engineering, and data partners
• Conduct research with customers and HR partners in a compliance domain
