Lead Product Designer

Rakuten is seeking a Lead Product Designer to shape the future of our Vertical Squad, focusing on innovative Cash Back experiences beyond online shopping. You will own the end-to-end design for new product areas like gift cards, dining, and in-store shopping, translating complex operational needs into simple, rewarding member experiences. This role is ideal for a designer who thrives on exploring new domains, synthesizing information quickly, and driving design vision within a collaborative, impact-driven team.

• Own end-to-end design for new Cash Back experiences including gift cards, dining, and in-store shopping
• Set design direction and develop a clear vision for the squad's product portfolio
• Frame and scope complex problems before applying UI solutions
• Design with systems thinking to ensure cohesion with Rakuten's core shopping experience
• Partner with research and engineering to validate concepts and de-risk solutions
• Leverage AI tools to enhance design process, creativity, and impact
