Principal Experience Designer - Visual Design & Design Systems

Workiva is seeking a Principal Experience Designer to lead the visual direction and evolution of Unify, our enterprise design system. This role involves defining visual language, shaping token architecture, and creating guidance for consistent product experiences. You will also contribute high-visibility visual design for key company initiatives and influence the future of AI-assisted design.

• Define and evolve Unify's visual language across typography, color, spacing, iconography, and motion
• Partner with product, engineering, and design teams to ensure consistent application of the design system
• Maintain a scalable, semantic token architecture for consistent cross-product experiences
• Create and maintain reference designs and usage guidance for designers and engineers
• Evaluate AI-generated designs and prototypes to strengthen system consistency
• Lead visual design for high-stakes moments like conferences and executive presentations
