About this role
The Brooklyn Public Library seeks a Deputy Chief Librarian to provide strategic and functional oversight of library public services across its extensive network. This executive role involves high-level decision-making, translating strategic priorities into actionable plans, and fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence. The position reports to the Chief Librarian and leads a team responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality library services throughout Brooklyn.
What we are looking for
6- Provide strategic and functional oversight of library public services
- Lead public service operations and implement strategic priorities
- Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and operational excellence
- Manage Central Library Director, six Regional Directors, and Administrative Assistant
- Ensure consistent and high-quality library services across 61 branches
- Requires MLS from ALA-accredited school and 7+ years of supervisory/management experience
