Research Associate

Texas A&M AgriLife Research is seeking a Research Associate to support studies on gene drive performance, DNA repair, and transgene removal in model organisms. This role involves designing and conducting experiments, performing molecular analyses, operating laboratory equipment, and assisting with data compilation for publications and proposals. The position also includes training junior personnel and maintaining laboratory operations.

• Design, plan, and conduct experiments on gene drive performance
• Assist with development and validation of CRISPR/Cas9 reagents
• Perform molecular analyses including PCR, genotyping, and sequencing preparation
• Analyze and summarize experimental outcomes and research results
• Compile data for scientific manuscripts, proposals, and reports
• Train undergraduate and graduate students in research procedures
