Staff Applied Scientist (Distribution Center)

Afresh is seeking a Staff Applied Scientist to lead R&D for their AI platform in the grocery industry. You will apply machine learning, forecasting, and optimization techniques to solve complex perishable inventory control problems, aiming to reduce food waste and improve produce freshness. This role involves setting technical direction, modeling complex supply chain scenarios, and driving solutions from research to production.

• Lead R&D for core replenishment AI/ML models
• Model demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and decision-making policy
• Implement solutions for complex multi-echelon inventory optimization problems
• Drive changes from research through production with scalable code
• Mentor scientists and engineers, and set technical standards
• Apply machine learning, forecasting, and operations research
