Staff Data Scientist

Udemy is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join their Consumer Product Analytics team in Austin, TX. This role will partner with product, design, and engineering teams focused on the consumer funnel, driving experimentation, defining key metrics, and using advanced analytics to uncover opportunities. You will translate findings into actionable insights for senior leadership and mentor junior data scientists.

• Serve as embedded product data science partner for discovery and conversion teams
• Drive end-to-end experimentation program: hypothesis, metric design, test design, readout
• Own analytical strategy, define KPIs, and build self-service analytics dashboards
• Use advanced analytics (causal inference, regression, clustering) to characterize learner behavior
• Translate findings into clear, actionable narratives for senior leaders
• Partner with Data Engineering to improve instrumentation, models, and pipelines
