Senior Staff, Decision Scientist, Risk

Flex, a growth-stage FinTech company, is seeking a Senior Staff Decision Scientist to lead the strategy and optimization of their payment decisioning stack. This role involves managing authorization, routing, and cost-risk tradeoffs for millions in payment volume, working at the intersection of payments, product, engineering, finance, and data.

• Own and evolve payment decisioning and routing strategy
• Increase authorization rates while reducing costs and losses
• Design and evaluate retry, failover, and fallback strategies
• Analyze large-scale payment and risk data for improvements
• Build models and forecasts for policy and product changes
• Run experiments to measure tradeoffs between growth, risk, cost, and user experience
