Distinguished, Data Scientist

As a Distinguished Engineer in Data Science, you will be a top technical leader shaping how Walmart builds and operationalizes data science and ML at an enterprise scale. You will define multi-year technical strategy, resolve complex cross-organizational problems, and mentor hundreds of engineers and data scientists. This is a hands-on role where you will prototype, review designs, write production-grade code and models, and make critical technical decisions.

• Set technical vision and multi-year roadmap for data science and applied ML
• Architect and guide large-scale ML/statistical systems in production
• Act as top technical escalation point for ambiguous data science problems
• Partner with VPs and Senior Directors on technical strategy and trade-offs
• Mentor and raise the technical bar for senior data scientists/engineers
• Drive adoption of modern MLOps, experimentation, and responsible-AI practices
