Biostatistician / Data Scientist (NASA HHPC)

Leidos is seeking a Spaceflight Data Scientist for NASA's Human Health and Performance Contract in Houston, TX. This role focuses on developing decision frameworks for Mars sample return and planetary protection, applying expertise in Bayesian inference and decision theory to safeguard Earth's biosphere. The position requires on-site work and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

• Develop Bayesian decision-theoretic models for Mars sample return and planetary protection
• Construct probabilistic models integrating microbial, environmental, and operational uncertainties
• Quantify tradeoffs for optimal testing, containment, and mitigation strategies
• Conduct formal uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis
• Communicate complex analytical results to diverse audiences
• Support NASA's protective mandates with analytical rigor
