Scientist I, Screening Tech Development

Profluent is seeking a Scientist I to develop and deploy screening infrastructure for their mammalian genome-editing platform. This lab-based role involves bridging AI-driven enzyme design with high-throughput experimental validation, spearheading genome-editing projects, and building scalable screening workflows. The ideal candidate will collaborate with biologists, bioinformaticians, and ML engineers.

• Develop and deploy scalable pooled mammalian screening and DNA preparation workflows
• Design, execute, and optimize high-throughput mammalian transfection workflows and cell-based assays
• Quantify genome editing via Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
• Generate poly- and monoclonal cell lines using Homology-Directed Repair (HDR) and lentiviral transduction
• Partner closely with Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, Automation, and Biology teams
• Maintain electronic lab notebooks, SOPs, and analytical summaries
