Lead Risk Engineer

College Board is seeking a Lead Risk Engineer to provide technical leadership in identifying, reviewing, and managing technology risks across its systems. This role involves building and leading a consistent risk assessment practice for cloud infrastructure, vendor integrations, AI capabilities, and more. You will collaborate with security engineering and technology teams to define controls, shape standards, and mentor other engineers.

• Lead risk-based security reviews across cloud, application security, vendor integrations, and emerging tech
• Evolve the risk review practice into a documented, repeatable methodology
• Define and maintain secure-by-default standards and patterns
• Serve as a primary security/risk partner to organization-level teams and governance bodies
• Embed risk requirements into tool onboarding, procurement, and vendor contracts
• Mentor engineers on risk review practices and contribute to strategic program direction
