Data Security Engineer

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Data Security Engineer to implement and enhance security controls protecting institutional data across various platforms. This hands-on role involves managing encryption, access controls, data classification, and secure data pipelines, collaborating with multiple IT teams to ensure robust data protection.

• Implement and maintain data protection controls including classification, masking, and de-identification
• Configure and operate encryption for data at rest and in transit, managing keys and secrets
• Implement least-privilege access models across data platforms and databases
• Harden security configurations for platforms like Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Azure SQL
• Embed security controls into data pipelines and workflows
• Automate control deployment, assessment, and compliance validation
