Senior Lead, Security Engineering and Operations

As a Senior Lead Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, engineering, and operationalizing enterprise security platforms across Northern Trust. This role requires a blend of hands-on platform delivery, technical ownership, and collaboration with various engineering and risk teams to ensure reliable, auditable, and scalable security capabilities.

• Engineer and operate security platforms including zero-trust, SASE/SSE, network security, and vulnerability management
• Design and implement security controls for intrusion prevention, secure web gateways, and SaaS applications
• Develop and maintain operational runbooks, maturity models, and metrics for security assurance
• Support audits and regulatory exams by ensuring control design for evidence quality and traceability
• Evaluate new security capabilities and provide recommendations based on risk reduction and operational fit
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and application teams on cross-functional security initiatives
