About this role
Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Wireless Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of a custom Media Access Control (MAC) layer for their TeraWave satellite communications network. This role involves developing high-performance protocols for satellite-to-satellite and satellite-to-ground communication, optimizing interfaces with packet processing engines, and collaborating with PHY layer engineers and network architects.
What we are looking for
6- Architect and implement high-performance MAC protocols for satellite links
- Develop TDMA and DAMA schedulers for bandwidth management
- Implement error control, ARQ, and AMC logic
- Build software for seamless satellite handovers
- Optimize MAC layer interface with DPDK and VPP
- Design MAC layer architectures for constellation-scale deployments
