About this role

Join CIBC's Cyber Operations team as a Detection Engineer, where you will design, build, and support threat detection content to identify cyber threats within the organization. You will leverage frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and collaborate with various security teams to enhance detection capabilities and protect CIBC's environment.

What we are looking for

Design and build threat detection content using MITRE ATT&CK and cyber kill-chain knowledge
Collaborate with Threat Hunting, SOC, Incident Response, and other security teams
Analyze and understand various attack and threat surfaces (Endpoint, Network, Cloud, AD, etc.)
Identify and propose solutions for impediments and roadblocks
Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to complex security problems
Work within an Agile development framework with 2-week sprints
