Principal Network Security Engineer

Altera is seeking a Principal Network Security Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for network security architecture and engineering. This role will define scalable security patterns, guide complex designs, and provide hands-on expertise to protect global infrastructure and data. You will shape, design, and improve the security of on-premises, cloud, and hybrid network environments, influencing engineering teams through architecture and technical decisions.

• Define and evolve enterprise network security strategy, target-state architecture, and technical roadmap
• Architect and review secure designs for data center, campus, cloud, WAN, and hybrid environments
• Design segmentation and traffic-control models using security zones, VRFs, and next-generation firewalls
• Evaluate and guide adoption of ZTNA, SWG, SASE, SD-WAN, NDR, and related capabilities
• Provide senior technical expertise during network intrusion and data exfiltration investigations
• Author and maintain network security standards, reference architectures, and technical guidelines
