About this role
Avnet is seeking a Security Engineer III to design, implement, and maintain the safety of our information systems and data. You will protect our assets from unauthorized access and destruction, identify security needs through user interaction, and ensure compliance with security policies. This role involves creating and tuning SIEM detections, managing network security tools like Netskope, and contributing to security risk assessments.
What we are looking for 6
- Design, build, and maintain SIEM detection logic and alerts
- Tune SIEM detections to reduce false positives and improve fidelity
- Support and troubleshoot network security capabilities including Netskope SWG and CASB
- Evaluate security risk for firewall rule changes
- Conduct security risk assessments and compliance audits
- Participate in on-call rotation for security incident response
