About this role
The New York Times seeks a Vice President, Cybersecurity and Deputy CISO to translate cybersecurity strategy into operational reality. This hybrid role, based in New York City, involves leading core security functions, owning program execution, and serving as a key escalation point for security risks and incidents. You will also act as a visible security leader and potentially serve as acting CISO.
What we are looking for
5- Lead and integrate security architecture, engineering, threat detection, incident response, operations, IAM, and risk/compliance
- Own day-to-day cybersecurity program execution, including planning, roadmap delivery, and metrics
- Serve as primary operational escalation point for significant security risks and incidents
- Act as a visible security leader for executives and senior editors
- Partner with newsroom teams to support unique threat models of journalists
