About this role

General Motors is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity & IT Controls Engineer to design, implement, and assess controls across various technology environments including cloud, SaaS, and AI. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to embed effective controls, improve GRC tooling, and provide insights on cyber and IT risk. The position is a senior individual contributor role focused on technical control engineering and assurance.

What we are looking for

Technical subject matter expert for cybersecurity and IT controls
Design and refine control patterns aligned with NIST, ISO, CIS, and SOX
Engineer and enhance controls assurance workflows and data integrations
Develop and support automation for continuous control monitoring
Assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls
Identify control gaps and recommend risk-based improvements
