Senior Privacy Engineer

Upstart is seeking a Senior Privacy Engineer to join their Engineering department. This role focuses on building and operating systems and tools to protect user data, implementing privacy-by-design principles, and ensuring responsible data use across the company's AI lending marketplace. The position requires strong software engineering skills and experience in privacy or security domains.

• Design, build, and operate privacy engineering services
• Implement privacy-by-design patterns and data minimization controls
• Build APIs, libraries, services, and developer tools for privacy enforcement
• Partner with cross-functional teams on technical specifications
• Support privacy reviews and technical risk assessments
• Improve reliability and maintainability of privacy systems
